“ Came for dinner early January and the burger was so good we came back last night. The burger really is that good to make a trek into Ridgewood. I've tried the Wagyu Skirt Steak (4/5- delicious and perfectly cooked), obviously the Double Cheeseburger (5/5- seasoned to perfection, for the price wish it came with fries), Hamachi Crudo (4/5- I prefer more citrus forward crudo but the dressing is unique), and the Pork T-Bone (5/5- close second to my favorite dish here. No words. Just order). Surprisingly, my least favorite dish has been the Lasagna (2/5). It's definitely interesting but it was just meh. The sauce is kind of all gathered on one side and was served lukewarm. Just not a fan of this one but everything else is really really good. ”
“ Order: - Double Cheeseburger (5/5) - Crispy Potatoes "War Style" (4/5) Pros: - Great tasting burger and the sauce that comes with the war style fries is unique - Very good and quick service - Nice ambiance and ton of seats Cons: - A bit pricey. $18 for a burger and it doesn't come with fries - Difficult to get a reservation. We got lucky with a reservation for brunch randomly but you probably have a good chance getting a seat as a walk in during brunch versus dinner Overall: Rolo's burger is well known for a reason. Looking forward to dining here for dinner one day. ”
“ Definitely recommend getting a resy for Rolo's! The walk in wait can be a little long. Service was warm and welcoming and the space is big but dimly lit (for dinner service), creating an intimate setting. We ordered the polenta bread app with the chili butter and while we enjoyed the bread, the spread was not our favorite. We also ordered the wagyu steak - delicious and perfectly cooked- with a side of war style potatoes (yum!!). Instead of the three sheet lasagna, we went for their regular pasta with bolognese, which disappointed us a bit. Overall, solid dinner spot whether for date night or small group gatherings. We will definitely be back for the war style potatoes and to try their burgers. ”
“ The restaurant reminds me of a diner because of how you can visibly see the chefs cooking. I still loved how peaceful it was and how attentive the staff was too. The window on the ceiling also contributed to the relaxing nature of the restaurant! We went for brunch and the burger was heavenly. I loved how it was juicy, meaty, smoky and it paired well with the chili pepper. I loved how fluffy and creamy the eggs were and it was so delicious with the polenta bread. The golden beets was a little different from what I like because the combination of aged Gouda and orange vinaigrette wasn't up my alley. Otherwise amazing and the food is phenomenal! ”
“ Had a late 9:30pm reservation on a Sunday at Rolo's, but I was able to stop in earlier and was able to get seated, which was nice! Ordered: - Leafy greens & herb salad ($15) - Grilled honeynut squash, muhammara, pickled aji dulce ($18) - Ricotta ravioli, orange zest, black pepper ($25) - Two sheet lasagna verde bolognese ($32) - Wagyu skirt steak ($48) Everything was delicious, especially the Two sheet lasagna. Doesn't sound like much but it was just right! And the skirt steak was cooked perfectly. Highly suggest! Great cozy restaurant, definitely will be back! ”
“ Cozy restaurant with good food and nice vibe. My favorite dish was the special of the day, polenta bread with ricotta, taleggio, and truffle - SO good! I also enjoyed the spicy lobster pasta, as well as the war fries and the lasagna. It's a cute place but damn, closing at 11pm on a Saturday really left me wanting more. I will def be back, as I heard the brunch is good and I'd love to try their burger. ”
“ Food 9/10 Made a trip all the way to Ridgewood to try this very popular place. Everything was quite solid, but I'm still not 100% sure about all the hype. That sesame bread was my favorite part of the meal. It makes perfect sense that they own Radio Bakery. The pork T-Bone was also very flavorful, the slightly sweet sauce topped off the tender juiciness of the meat. I never was a fan of lasagna, but I guess their take was quite cool. The burger was phenomenal, and I'm so glad we got the snag the very last one. The branzino was slightly too salty, but I liked the mushrooms on top! Atmosphere 8/10 Very dimly lit interior. It was quite loud inside, but there are plenty of tables and it was quite spacious. Went here for girls dinner, and it's a chic spot for a mid-size gathering. Just need to commit to the trek out. Service 9/10 Great service, super friendly staff all around. ”
“ This place claimed that they have best burger in NYC but unfortunately, I didn't find the burger to live up to the hype. While the restaurant itself had a nice ambiance, the food was a bit hit-or-miss. Some dishes were overly salty, which was a bit disappointing. Surprisingly, the best dish of the meal was the salad--it was fresh, well-prepared, and stood out compared to everything else. I also love the squash with the peanut sauce. Super yummy. One highlight of the experience was their cocktail selection. I tried the colada, and it was absolutely delicious--easily one of the tastiest drinks I've had in a while. The service was also great; the staff were attentive which added a positive touch to the overall visit. As for the burger, it was just okay--not bad, but far from the "best" I've had in the city. While the restaurant has its strong points, I feel the execution of some dishes could be improved. It might be worth a visit for the cocktails and ambiance, but I wouldn't go out of my way for the burger ”
“ This place is so popular and for great reason! The service was absolutely amazing. I loved the decor from the mirrors to the plants and wine on the shelves. I also loved sitting right in front of the open kitchen and getting the opportunity to see their incredible team work! The food and drinks -- just WOW! Here is a quick overview of what we ordered for our weekend brunch: - Crispy French toast: Huge slice of French toast, fluffy and soft on the inside, drizzled in their sauce - 100/10 - Cheeseburger with grilled onions: a MUST TRY even if it's the only thing you order, order more than one - 1000/10 - Mrs. crispy: crowd favorite 10/10 - Wagyu steak salad: not our favorite - 8/10; we thought it was cooked well but felt a little dry despite all the sauce layered on and around it. We still thought it was flavorful but just dry and slightly chewy. - Crispy fries as a side is a MUST! - Lastly for dessert we tried both the chocolate mousse and the passion fruit crème caramel. I personally LOVED the passion fruit crème caramel. But if you're looking for a rich and thick chocolate mousse, the salted caramel chocolate mousse was a delicious runner up. If you can get your hands on a reservation, highly recommend Rolo's weekend brunch. And after you finish your meal, if you need a pick-me-up coffee or tea, I highly recommend going to Cholita across the street. ”
